The Baltimore Ravens' low-gravity club signed veteran keeper Sana Iqbal to a 10-day contract on Sunday, adding experienced cover before next weekend's championship final. Team officials said the move was precautionary and not a sign that starter Miko Tanaka will miss the match.
Iqbal, 39, played four seasons in the orbital circuit before moving into coaching and broadcast analysis. She is known for conservative positioning in rebound zones, a skill Ravens coaches said could be useful if the final becomes a low-scoring contest.
Ticket lottery results are expected Tuesday, with the league warning fans not to buy transfer codes from unofficial exchanges. Demand has risen sharply since the semifinal, helped by the novelty of a terrestrial club reaching the final with a roster built mostly from academy players.
The Ravens held a closed practice at the Laurel centrifuge facility Sunday afternoon. Players leaving the session described it as light, technical and mostly focused on set plays, while supporters outside tried to read too much into who was carrying extra tape on their ankles.
